• History:
  • In May of 2011 a small group of local women with a collective desire to help others and better our community, joined together to make a reality the idea of Hannah’s Place, Inc. There was a common acknowledgement that there is a need in our community, especially for young women (but not limited to only young women), to have access to information, education and support when they are making difficult decisions about their future. In July of 2011 Hannah’s Place officially became a non‐profit organization obtaining 501c3 status. In September of 2012 we formed an official board of seven women representing many different areas of our community. Shortly after that time a location for the facility was obtained, the Presbyterian manse.

  • Mission Statement:
  • Our goal is to actively be Informing, Networking and Caring for young mom’s and ladies of any age in need. We will achieve this through the various resources we offer including: Prenatal Classes, Life Skill Classes, Parenting Programs, Community Referrals, Peer Counseling for healing and support, Pregnancy Tests and a Mommy Store. Hannah’s Place seeks to provide unconditional caring. Our desire is to come along side a young parent and help teach them to make wise choices for themselves and their child. Through building into our young people, we can help ensure a brighter future for beloved community of Wrangell.

  • Training:
  • Our group of twenty volunteer’s have each undergone 22 hours of instruction to help equip them to provide unconditional and confidential assistance to other women in need. In addition, each volunteer has a passion for seeking to assist other women in bettering their quality of life and those they influence.
